Prospector Productions, LLC, is a television and creative services production company that brings together its principals’ vast experience in broadcast journalism and A/V design and production, keen instincts for talent development and undying love of great stories and great storytelling to create top quality, original content produced and distributed for any venue or platform: broadcast television, zoos, aquariums, museums, corporate/branded visitor centers and online distribution.

Our People

Megan Reilly, Prospector Productions’ Co-Founder & Executive Producer

With more than 25 years’ experience in broadcast and multimedia creation, Megan is Prospector’s Creative Principal & CFO, and  heads Prospector’s Project Management and Production departments. Megan oversees finance, leads the business development of the company, coordinates with TV networks, supervises production and post-production, and produces, directs, writes and edits documentary videos.

An experienced journalist and skilled storyteller, Megan has produced, directed, and written for the National Geographic channel, the Discovery Channel, History Channel, PBS, Animal Planet, A&E and ABC News Productions among other networks.  She was the creator and Executive Producer/Showrunner of Goldfathers (known as Gold Diggers in the UK), an original, 5-part, factual entertainment series for National Geographic Channel and National Geographic International.

As a veteran educational television writer and interviewer, Megan is the consummate collaborator for isolating and articulating exhibit themes and crafting meaningful and pithy messaging for branded content and multimedia experiences.  In her role as a Prospector multimedia content creator, Megan researches and writes Prospector’s video scripts and interpretive panels.

Megan’s digital and multimedia installations have appeared in aquariums, childrens’ hospitals, museums and visitor centers around the country, including the Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta, GA; San Antonio Children’s Hospital (for the Garth Brooks Foundation, Teammates for Kids), San Antonio, TX; The National Museum of the Pacific War, Fredericksburg, TX; The Fort Monroe Visitors’ Center, Hampton, VA; Historic Jamestowne Island Visitors’ Center, Jamestown, VA; the Boston Science Museum, Boston, MA; and the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, IL.

Jim Gilmore, Prospector Productions’ Co-Founder & Executive Producer

Producer/Reporter extraordinaire, Jim Gilmore’s long career includes a 4-year stint at the BBC, work with the Discovery Channel, The History Channel and more than three decades with the PBS investigative documentary series FRONTLINE.  Jim has collaborated on more than 50 programs for FRONTLINE, including 9 that have garnered Emmy Awards, two Peabody Awards, two George Polk Awards and two duPont Awards.

For FRONTLINE, Jim’s work has focused on national security, political and economic issues. Some recent programs include: America’s Great Divide: From Obama to Trump; Supreme Revenge; The Mueller Investigation; Zero Tolerance; Trump’s Showdown; Trump’s Takeover; the four-hour Divided States of America; Putin’s Revenge; League of Denial: the NFL’s Concussion Crisis; Money, Power and Wall Street; United States of Secrets, which won the Best Documentary Emmy award for 2015; Gunned Down: the Power of the NRA; The Torture Question; Losing Iraq; The Anthrax Files; The Dark Side; Inside the Meltdown; The Man Who Knew; and five of FRONTLINE’s popular, election-year biography programs, The Choice, in 2000, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020.

For Prospector, Jim is the Co-Creative Principal, Co-Chief Executive Officer, Co-Chief Financial Officer and moral compass.

Lisa Vitale, Prospector Productions’ Branded Entertainment and Development Exec.

Having worked with Warner Brothers, Nicktoons, Animal Planet, MGM, and Universal, Lisa’s production background spans indie films, animation, live-action and reality TV, commercials, social media management, and branded entertainment.

Lisa co-developed and executive produced Ice Holes, an original, 8-part series for the National Geographic Channel. She has produced commercials for Skechers top-selling brands and headed post production on 26 episodes of its animated series Zevo-3, for Nicktoons. Continuing her relationship with Skechers, she produced DVD’s featuring the wildly popular Twinkle Toes franchise.

Lisa also directed the social media team behind the Skechers charitable shoe line, BOBS for Dogs. By combining cause marketing with branded content Lisa generated donations in excess of 4 million dollars to the animal rescue organizations Best Friends Animal Society and The Petco Foundation.

At Prospector, Lisa leads the company in branded entertainment, specialized project management and cause marketing efforts.

Helen Yung, Prospector Productions’ Production Accountant

With close to 20 years experience in television production accounting, Helen is exceptionally well-versed in its organizational demands, and the finer points of payroll and post-production documentation.

Having worked on scores of multi-part, multi-season cable series for Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TLC, The History Channel, and the National Geographic Channel, as well as on numerous non-fiction productions for PBS on shows such as NOVA, American Experience and FRONTLINE, Helen efficiently and accurately manages the financial needs of all of the shows she works on.
